A more extreme example of an old mega city contracting to it's core. From outer space, the city of Concrete Bailey resembles the remains of a burned forest. Only instead of tree stumps we find the foundations of skyscrapers. Their façades long weathered away by the wind and sand.
Such ruins make great material for the amateur photographer, and painter. Due to the increasing disappearances of would be explorers among the canyons and caves, advisory clubs were formed. Their numbers made up of energetic blue collar workers enthusiastic about hiking, the curious students obsessed with far away lands, and those looking for answers.
Regardless of the volunteers' backgrounds, all of them share the following maxims: Map as much as you can. Take and return only the equipment you need. If you find a way through the city's walls, leave us a clue, but don't broadcast it.
